"I
take warfarin to keep my blood
'thin' enough to prevent me from
having a stroke"
It
is a smart piece of modern male
jewellery, with a definite
purpose. If you befall an
accident or are found
unconscious, it provides medical
teams, and in fact anyone with
knowledge of the system, instant
info about you, and your
medical condition. In fact it
could well save your life in
certain circumstances.
I bought it, originally because
of pressure from family members,
but because I liked the look of
it, and the sheer practicality
of it. I have a heart condition
(AF) for which I take beta
blockers, and consequently I
take warfarin to keep my blood
'thin' enough to prevent me from
having a stroke. This is vital
information to medics if I am
unable to pass the
information
on, and is readily available to
them from my wrist.

"I am
allergic to morphine and
therefore this could be life
saving for me."
My brother bought
me an
SOS
Talisman bracelet
for Christmas. I had been trying
for a long time to find one but
the chemists and even the
hospital in Bedford either had
never heard of them or hadn't
got any.
I am now wearing my bracelet and
have entered all my medical
details. I have also printed off
several copies of the sheet
which I have placed in the car
and my handbags.
I am allergic to morphine and
therefore this could be life
saving for me. Hopefully it will
never be put into practice but
if it should thank you for such
a good invention.
Yours sincerely,
Debbie Hall |
